Secured behind the neck with two adjustable snap buttons making them easy to put on and almost impossible for baby's to pull off (hello, 12-18 month olds!).  Cleverly made, the backing can also be used as a washcloth after meals to avoid using wipes with harsh chemicals on your baby's delicate skin
